If that is more than you want to spend, there are three genuinely different answers depending on what you are after: the most complete free scan (SoftMaxx — ours, disclosed below), the cheapest verified full report (ClinicEvo, $12 a month), and a human analyst instead of software (QOVES, $150 a year). A phone app is a fourth option and the one most lists get wrong.
First, a disambiguation that trips people up: FaceIQ Labs is the web product at faceiqlabs.com. It is not the same thing as the similarly-named FaceIQ app on the App Store, which is a different product from a different developer. Reviews of one are routinely mistaken for the other.

1. What you are leaving, exactly
Worth having the real numbers in front of you before comparing, because most "alternatives" pages quote one tier and skip the rest. From faceiqlabs.com/support/plans, read 19 September 2026:

The free tier is not nothing — landmark mapping and a side-profile score are included at every level. What it withholds is the report itself. That is a reasonable design, and it means the honest question is not "is FaceIQ free" but "is the full report worth $24.99 a month to me".
2. If you want a real number without paying
Two options give you an actual score rather than a teaser, and they work differently.
SoftMaxx (ours). The front scan returns an overall 0–10 and 11 category sub-scores, in about a minute, with no signup and no card. The method is published and there is a limits page saying what the measures do not tell you. Disclosure: we make SoftMaxx. Treat this entry with the scepticism you would apply to any vendor recommending itself.
ClinicEvo's free tier gives a light read of symmetry, proportions and face shape, plus five credits for its visual-simulation Studio, with results saved for five days. It withholds the full report and the daily tracking.
What is not a free alternative, despite appearing on most lists: Umax installs free but keeps the score behind a subscription, and that subscription is weekly — $3.99 to $9.99 a week on the App Store, which annualises to $207.48–$519.48. A free download is not a free analysis, and the weekly framing is how a cheap-looking app becomes the most expensive option on this page.
3. If you want the full report for less
ClinicEvo, $12 a month (clinicevo.com, read 19 September 2026) is the cheapest full report we could verify — less than half FaceIQ Labs' $24.99 Basic. Its membership page lists the full evoReport, daily score scans, weekly skin tracking, personalised guidance and 25 Studio credits a month, and states "No hidden fees. Cancel anytime."
It is a genuinely different product rather than a cheaper clone: the emphasis is on skin tracking and visual simulation over time, where FaceIQ leans on landmark measurement and its own AI tools. If what you wanted from FaceIQ was the measurement, that difference matters; if you wanted a plan and progress tracking, it may suit you better.

4. If you want a person, not software
Every option above is automated. QOVES is the one that is not: a human analyst prepares the report from six photos you upload, at $150 a year for the membership, with delivery quoted at up to 28 days (read 14 September 2026 — see our QOVES pricing breakdown for the full figures and what they used to be).
Annualised, $150 is more than ClinicEvo's $144 and less than FaceIQ Labs' $119.88 Basic… which is to say these three sit close enough together that price is not the deciding factor. The deciding factor is turnaround and who is looking. Software answers in a minute; a person takes weeks and can say things software will not.
5. Choosing between them, honestly
- You want a number right now, for nothing: a free scan — ours or ClinicEvo's free tier.
- You want the full written analysis as cheaply as possible: ClinicEvo at $12/month.
- You never want a subscription: a one-time unlock is the only route; ours is $9.99.
- You want a human opinion: QOVES, and budget for the wait.
- You want it as a phone app: Umax is the mainstream answer, but read the weekly price as an annual one before you commit.
- You want FaceIQ specifically: then the free tier already tells you whether the report is for you, and the yearly plan at $119.88 is a little over four months of Basic.
